QUESTIONS:

These nest houses are perfect for any yard or decor and come in a variety of color choices. Collect them all to attract a
flock. The birdnest is designed as an educational tool too! Children and adults learn through easy assembly,
how the combination of varied materials creates form and function.
Will squirrels disrupt the nesters?
Our experience shows that even the most aggressive squirrels (which devour my canvas outdoor cushions) are not interested in chewing on this durable fabric. They appear disinterested and it is nearly impossible for them to jump on it.
How does a bird light on the nest house without a perch?
We have incorporated dimensionality to the area around the entry so the parents and fledglings can easily access their nest.
What about wind blowing the nest house?
We suggest you hang your birdnest house in a wind-sheltered area. If blowing presents a problem, there is an easy solution.
- Put a handful of gravel, stones, or shells in the bottom of the house, or
- Cut a board 1"x6"x7" and set in the bottom of the house
Will the fabric withstand the elements and what about cleaning?
600 denier polyester is known to be extremely colorfast and soil repellent. Furthermore, it is easy to hand wash your birdnest house in lukewarm water with detergent. Our test houses have been outside throughout a winter here in Colorado and still look like new!
Will the house become too hot inside in warm climates or not provide enough insulation in cooler climates?
From our experience, the interior temperatures of the birdnest house are within a degree or two of ambient temperatures. Since birds generally nest during the warmer seasons, insulating walls are less a factor than overheating. Our ventilation holes provide adequate air circulation.
